Prom Tips: How to make the most of it
By: Camille Daniels
Prom season is almost here and it can become a little crazy when planning for it. So, to help keep the madness at level 1 below are some tips to help with that. Just remember it’s not your wedding day therefore remember the concerns of your friends as well.
Tips on how to stay calm while planning for prom
The best way to successfully plan for the prom is to first and foremost to remain calm. It’s easy while planning with friends to get caught up in your feelings since each person has the ideal way in which prom is to be spent. However, if going with friends than it is a must to remember that it is about being together and celebrating the united achievement of making it to graduation.
It also helps to know your limit in terms of what you are able to pay for, for the occasion and to stay within your limit. This way it makes it easier to say no to the things that may be really tempting to want to add in the spirit of “its prom”.
Bras tips for prom
The best way to find the right bra is to remember not only what kind of dress you’re wearing but to remember what you’re actual bra size is. Make sure you’ve been properly measured by someone who is well educated in the area of bras. This will help make it easier to look for the proper bra for your dress. Make sure to look for bras that can blend in with the gown.
If finding a make-up professional is too difficult now is the time to quickly figure out what make up companies work for your skin tone as well as your make up style. You should figure out works for you such as do you want your eyes or your lips to pop out more? How important is lipstick or the right lip gloss to you? Are you aiming to look like you aren’t wearing makeup or just a hint? Spend a day or two trying things out now so you can figure out what you’re night on prom night will be.
If you’re going to go all out on the dress and everything else than what goes on your feet should be right up there. While heels are great, there will be points where your feet are going to want a break. This means more than just going to take a seat and resting. Make sure to have a pair of flats as well with you. Slip them on after you’ve danced the night away. The best place is to put them under your table at the prom so that way you can slip them on during breaks.
How to pick the right dress
Know your size and what cut of a dress works for your body. And if you’re on a budget for a dress stick to it. Prom is about celebrating an achievement and also getting a chance to see yourself in a different light. To do that you’ve got to know yourself well enough to know what works and what doesn’t. Take the time now to visit stores that may specialize in formal wear such as a David’s Bridal and department stores like JC Penny or Sears or even Macy's. Stores like these and private boutiques can help you figure out what cut works for you as well as have the right design that represents you.
Good luck with your prom plans, and may it be a great night to remember. Please remember to have fun and to be safe.
